Used swimsuit stigma

So I have about 5 bathing suits in pretty much pristine condition that I cant wear at all. (too small too big, ect) I'm curious what peoples opinions on used bathing suits is.

I'm of the personal opinion that as long as its been washed and has NO STAINS or fading that its pretty much fine with me. Swimsuits are expensive (I just paid $50 for a onepeice, that was a closeout price.) for something you maybe 3 - 4 times during the summer unless you are a beach vacationer or heavy swimmer or something. Me personally I wear mine a little more often because I live in Houston and like to swim, but I take great care of my clothes and refuse to let my suits fade form chlorine exposure. Plus with all the vintage love on places like etsy, what is hotter than having the most unique suit on the beach, and when they ask "Where did you get your suit?" "Oh well its vintage." you can reply, most people would be impressed.

So girls, would you wear a used swimsuit epically if it was a suit that you loved and at a low price you could afford? Or would the idea just kill you too much.

comment and let me know what YOU think.

  1. I love the thought of vintage swimwear but don't like the thought of putting on an actual used piece of "close to the crotch" clothing like that. My mom recently bought up some "like brand new condition" swimwear at garage sales and I'm not sure yet about wearing them. I'd like to know what exactly should they be washed in? I thought maybe pine sol?
