Purple hair!

I now have purple hair! I have no idea if I will keep it or not, but I like it for now. I'm going to try to post outfits of the day and faces of the day when I get a new camera. My last camera bit the bullet and I have found nothing to replace it yet. so stay tuned. :)

the rainbow hair effect.

I was reading some backdated blog from Doe Deere and I came across a post about her having blue hair, the upkeep and the trials and reactions form people on the street.

"Life as a mermaid-head

One thing is for sure: people definitely treat you differently when you have unusual hair. Some look at you with suspicion like you’re some kind of an up-to-no-good teenager out to steal their wallet, while others find it fascinating. It really depends on your audience. I got some disapproving star

es from conservative middle-aged women in a diner and some teenage boys yelled ‘Oompa-Loompa!’ at me out of their car (haha, they probably m

eant Smurfette seeing how Oompa-Loompas have brown hair!). The one thing that went straight to my heart is when an old lady in a pet store said she liked my hair. Her own was as white as snow and teased into a big 60s bouffant, and I instantly thought that’s what I might look like when I’m her age… Reactions also depend on the neighborhood you happen to be in. In a conservative uptown-type environment you might get some head-shaking in your direction, but liberal parts of town like the East Village or Soho in New York seem to be delighted to see more color!"

- Doe Deere

Ive been there! Ive had every unnatural and natural color combination you can think of (minus yellow and green which are not flattering on me.) and I loved it! Though I have to say people do treat you a bit differently. I remeber when I was out with my purple hair I got followed areund a high-end store when I was shopping with my mother. It was very unsettling to me at the time and my thought was 'do I look like a delinquent?' of course to the conservative minded I did.

Mostly I have gotten compliments, I was out with a friend who had pink hair we got the cutest little girls who pointed at us and said "I want hair like that!" many times Ive been out with rainbow colored hair and gotten the admiration of little girls who saw me as a princess.

I recently dyed my hair back to black, because I'm going into a conservitive and competive feild, and wanted to tone down my look.

I do miss it though.

For fun here's a pic of my hair when it was blue

circle lenses...strange beauty trends im addicted to.

SO a while go I bought some of those infamous circle lenses the one that the nytimes scared people about over the summer. You know of all the contacts ive worn over the years, ive never worn colored lenses I could never see out of them. These circle lenses however, I can see out of and they make me look bright eyed and cherry, something that my small eyes dont do often without gobs of make-up! but hey why babble let me show you a picture.

Pretty cool huh?

these in particular are Geo Ultra Black, and I got them for a costume, but I can get away with wearing them for everyday with the right make-up. I also purchased some green, and violet and plan to get some more. I get mine from http://www.honeycolor.com/ they have some of the best prices and a great sale going on right now!

I know contacts that change your eye shape and color arent for everyone but hey. I like the look of them and Ive worn contacts for a while, so its works for me. But caution folks if you've never worn contacts before you should go to an optimtrist and get your eyes fitted before purchasing any.

villainess, or, my obsession with soap.

Man oh man do I love soap, no really I LOVE soap. I have had at one time 12 bars of soap. its not that impressive until you thing about the kinds of soap I tend to acquire. I like organic, handmade and the stuff that smells fantastic.

So Ive turned to villainess. A fellow BPAL'er (another obsession) sent me a sample awhile, and while the feel of it was great, the scent was not something I loved so I put it away, until recently I had forgotten about it until my precious lush stock got low so i order d a bar..or two and a lotion, but I digress. Well it just arrived last week and man or man am I in heaven. I dont think Ive ever wanted to take a shower twice a day just to use my new soap but I do! its perfectly formulated creamy and a good lather without being foamy and the smell is just fantastic! Currently I'm washing with 'just deserts' and I smell like a dream.

I'd recommend villainess products to anyone with a bath fetish pick some up at http://www.villainess.net/

Product Review; Lush Fresh Handmade Cosmetics,Solid Shampoo Bar Godiva

Godiva as a product is unique is its appearance, as solid is not the form shampoo usually takes. This particular shampoo is presented in a round disk and is a lovely yellow color lends it to quick yet happy morning showers and those times when messing with a big old bottle of extra value shampoo is not appealing. The smell also very lovely, much different from big department store brands with strawberry kiwi and other strong artificial fruit scents. This little yellow disk is scented with natural Shea butter and not much else its soft and subtle without over perfuming the hair. The use of the product is very easy, just wet the hair and rub the bar across the scalp until it lathers, and then massage in and boy does this shampoo lather, which is often unheard of in products that are organic. Its impressive to note that not only with the organic and vegan label of this product its also preservative free and praben free and comes with distinct lack of packaging to be better serving of the environment, can an average salon shampoo say that? The price point is the only troubling thing about this product, at $9.99 per bar, this shampoo should last at least 4 months or more, but with its tendency to melt if left in the shower and the amount of times needed to lather the hair this little bar can run out in a month or two, not very economical compared to other brands of organic shampoo. However for the environmentally conscious this shampoo is a godsend, perfect if a mountain field is home and taking baths in a river stream is normal. (well ok maybe just a shower with a stream setting.) This happy little yellow bar gets the job done and leaves your hair strong and silky enough to use as ladder down a very tall tower and with a name like Godiva, it should.
