The last days of lovejoys

So sorry for the recent absence, there has not been much to post about as of late, and my schedule has been a little weird, so trying to find things to do with my hubby has been sporadic. Here are some photos from the last days of lovejoys which is a bar that was home to bikers, rockabilly folks, vintage lovers and other eclectic characters of austin. Lovejoys will be missed dearly and we hope to see it open again soon.

All photos in this post are taken by the awesome Ken Mitchell, my dress is a Pin-Up Couture Luscious Dress in mint. from http://www.pinupgirlclothing.com/

Sunday funday...Galaxy Cafe and The Dark Night Rises

Hello dolls!

Yesterday for Sunday funday we went out to see "The Dark Night Rises" my husband is a huge, huge comic book nerd and we just had to see it this weekend. Before that tho we stopped for a little bite to eat in a place called Galaxy Cafe. Its a local Austin diner chain with really rad decor and great food! Dave and I both got burgers and mac & cheese as a side. We are both mac & cheese lovers so that was a prime choice for the side.

Later on at the show we stood in a long line at the Alamo Drafthouse Slaughter Ln. This is the newest theater  in the Alamo Drafthouse chain and is absolutely beautiful. I wish I had taken more pictures. Ah well.

40's inspired Ronson dress and tittie bingo.

I went out last night to a meeting about a new skincare line (which I'll be posting about more later.) and afterwords we went out to a place called the highball for an event called tittie bingo. Basically, its bingo with a porno style twist. We got to have drinks, call out obscure sex positions and watch a (edited, mind you.) porn form the 70's called "little girls blue" it was an epic night! I loved some of the quotes form the movie, none of which I'll repeat here. I want to take pictures of the highball for you all one day as its really a lovely bar, complete with a retro styled bowling ally that is the same bowlling ally from "the big lebowsky", but enough about that, on to the oufit!

Dress; I <3 Ronson (Charlotte Ronson's JC Penny's exclusive line)
Tights; Dept store
Ring, earings; not sure
bracelate; made by my friend Gayle. Who still does not have an etsy shop.

A night out with the girls at a showbar.

Last night I went to the only show bar that I know of in the Houston area, a place called TC's. If your not familiar with the term showbar, its a term meaning that a a bar has a show every night and is generally used in the drag community to describe a bar with a running drag show.

TC's has a show every night and Saturdays is there sultry sirens show, which was comprised of some sexy ladies singing hip hop, RnB and pop tunes and the odd Spanish and country tune. I was really impressed with some of the make-up of these ladies, and floored by the performances. I dint get any pictures because my phone died halfway trough the night and I forgot my video camara but next time I go I will post a blog full of pictures.

If you have a local showbar in your area, go check it out support the local gay community and be inspired by some beautiful female impersonators and enjoy yourself!
